Creating a website for a Jiu-Jitsu & Self Defence club
KYAK was commissioned to build a new website for the international brand Gracie Barra – Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defence academy, who were setting up a new branch in Newark-on-Trent.
As with the majority of website’s we produce we proposed to use an existing WordPress template that we could manipulate. Not only does this approach keep the cost down due to needing less development, it’s also a relatively quick solution – important in this instance since the client was looking to have something in place within a matter of weeks!
Using the existing Gracie Barra brand style as a reference, as well as images provided by the client, we created a five page website designed to attract potential recruits, provide all the information a potential member needs and of course a contact form to get in touch.
Promoting the website
Of course no website is guaranteed success or even to be seen. As we develop any website we make sure to implement best practice Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) such as ensuring the use of HTML, header tags, meta-data on images etc.
There are many more ways to improve a sites visibility and at KYAK we can also provide a more comprehensive SEO strategy if required. Alongside this we can provide additional marketing support from graphics for social platforms (such as the examples shown below) to paid advertising and much more.
However even with limited SEO within a matter of hours of the site going live it had received a number of enquiries from genuine members of the public. As a result the client was very happy indeed!
